*continues crying*

we were supposed to watch "the change up" today, but because ahben and wally arrived late due to traffic, we couldnt catch the 2.20pm slot. so, we decided to watch "the sorcerer and the white snake" at 2.35pm instead! which, i feel, was fortunate because i have loved this folk tale ever since i was young. heheheee.

my heart still aches for both white snake and xu xian... and unlike any other adaptations i remember watching/reading, fahai had a moment of realization in the movie and i felt that it was really important, because it is what i've always wanted his character to understand!!!

demons may be, well, demons, but not all demons are necessarily evil. not all do harm to humans; some fall in love, too. and although rules may be rules, you just have to understand that not everything is black and white. i know i wrote in "frog in a well" that the world is black and white, but ehh, that was just to depict another situation. lol. i dont believe in rigidity.

although the movie may be different from the actual story (how they met, etc), the message remains the same. do you have any idea how much i hate it when two people genuinely love each other and yet are not allowed to be together? no matter what the circumstances are, i strongly believe that two people who love each other should be allowed to be together.

this is the kind of love i believe in, not the kind we know of in present day. this is just my personal opinion, but love as portrayed in centuries-long stories is always so pure... and pure love is as strong as it is innocent. it's just two people who genuinely love each other, who want to be with each other, who are willing to go to any ends for each other.

hehe, really glad that we watched this instead of "the change up"! because i remembered how much i loved watching period dramas/movies (i keep wanting to say ancient lol), and how i still believe in buddhism despite recognizing myself as a roman catholic now. i was brought up a buddhist, after all, and what i've learnt as a child will always stick with me. furthermore, who says i cant believe in two things at the same time? im not someone who believes in only one thing, and i've always said that i believe in everything, or nothing at all. so i was really touched when i saw how fahai stuck to his belief and faith and how it saw him through everything. aiyah, bottom-line is, i was brought up in a mixed (and rich) environment, so yeap!

im gonna get this on dvd, lol. since im planning to get myself a portable dvd player (getting one for mummy, so i might as well get one for myself too!) and stocking up on all the dramas that i've been wanting to watch since years ago, i might as well get this on dvd! in fact, i think im gonna make a list of movies and dramas that has remained in my heart despite the passing of years.
