This movie was based on the true story of Battle of Pohang Girl's Middle School, which took place on August 13, 1950, fought by 71 student soldiers in the Republic of Korea's 3rd Corps.
Those 71 student soldiers delayed the North Korean's advance for 11 hours, giving time for South Korean and UN troops to counterattack later on.
i was on-off crying from the beginning of the movie until the end, but it really was in the last 10-15mins that i cried until i shook, until i could hardly breathe, until i began to make awful noises. :'(
the way the student soldiers worked together and sacrificed themselves.. i can only try to imagine how terrified they were. but they were brave and for just 71 of them, up against hundreds, they were strong.
don't people get it…? war isn't good.
top and kwon sang woo were great. both of them pulled off their characters well: oh jung beom and kap jo. kwon sang woo has always been a great actor; mummy adores him even more than she adores rain, lol. and yeah, i have always admired top as a rapper and now i really respect him. he did great; i just hope that his hard work will be recognized. =)
really, catch this movie! if you need the links, just holler. i'll share, because sharing is caring and because this movie really is worth it. =)
